Five Ukrainians injured in a road accident in Vitebsk region in Belarus in July have been brought home on a special flight to Ukraine.

Four Ukrainians were discharged from Orshansk city hospital and one from Vitebsk regional hospital on Tuesday, Interfax-Ukraine learned from Orshansk city hospital.

“Today, they were brought home on a special flight from Vitebsk,” the hospital said.

As reported, an Opel Omega with Russian license plates crashed head-on into a Mercedes Sprinter minibus with Ukrainian license plates near the village of Babinichi, Orsha district, Belarus on July 28. The driver and all four passengers of the Opel Omega – four citizens of Uzbekistan and an Azerbaijani died at the scene. Three Ukrainians from the minibus also died at the scene. Eleven Ukrainians were hospitalized, and two of them died in hospital.

An inquiry has been launched into the accident.
