You're reading: Ukroboronprom: 4,000 armored vehicles supplied to armed forces over past year

Between July 2014 and July 2015 Ukroboronprom state concern has produced and delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces 3,936 units of new and modernized weapons and vehicles, the company press service has reported.

According to the press service, out of the total amount of military equipment, 2,686 units (68.2%) were missiles and ammunition, 605 units (15.4 percent) – rocket-artillery armaments, 495 units (12.6 percent) – communications, electronic warfare and navigation equipment, and 105 units (2.7 percent) – armored vehicles.

Ukroboronprom Head Roman Romanov said the main priority for the state concern in the near future is serial production of next generation weapons and military equipment, especially high-precision weapons.

At the beginning of 2015, Ukroboronprom announced that it plans to transition to NATO arms and military equipment production standards by the end of 2018.
