The state postal service enterprise Ukrposhta for the first time after the annexation of the Crimean peninsula has started sending pensions to the peninsula, Ukrposhta has said.

“The Cabinet of Ministers permitted the sending of pension payments to the territory of Crimea, which will be formalized as international money transfers. Ukrposhta will accept and carry out transfers of pensions in the post offices of the Crimean peninsula,” reads a statement.

Currently payments for the second quarter of 2014 are being performed.

The report notes that Crimeans who want to resume pension payment in Ukraine should apply with a personal statement to one of the four departments of the Pension Fund in Kherson region – Henichesk, Kalanchak, Novotroitske, and Chaplynka. The statement should contain official confirmation of their refusal to receive a pension from the Russian Federation.
