You're reading: Ukrzaliznytsia: No delays of trains heading for Russia

Kyiv, August 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine's State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia has said all train services to Russia are departing according to schedule and there are currently no problems in the territory of Ukraine.

Ukrzaliznytsia told Interfax-Ukraine the delays occur on the territory of Russia (at the Bryansk station) due to comprehensive inspections. However, effective rail traffic organization and the prevention of jams caused by delays in customs inspections are outside the responsibility of Ukrzaliznytsia, the administration said.

According to earlier reports, the Ukrainian Federation of Employers reported on August 14 that the Russian customs service had included all Ukrainian importers without exception on the list of unreliable suppliers, which effectively blocked the supply of Ukrainian goods for an indefinite period.

According to the Ukrainian Federation of Employers, the export of Ukrainian goods to Russia in the second half of 2013 was projected at $8.5 billion. The Ukrainian Federation of Employers estimates Ukraine’s losses from the actions taken by the Russian authorities at $2-2.5 billion in the second half of 2013.

Several large Ukrainian manufacturers later reported problems getting their products across the Russian border.
