You're reading: Ukrzaliznytsia plans to launch Hyundai Rotem trains on Kyiv-Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv-Odesa routes by late 2012

The State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) expects that by late 2012 it will launch high-speed interregional trains made by Hyundai Rotem on the Kyiv-Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv-Odesa routes, the head of the main passenger department at State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Ivanko, has said at a press conference.

"The next stage [after the launch of three routes] is Kyiv-Dnipropetrovsk, and by the end of the year – Kyiv-Odesa," he said.He said that at present, around 900 tickets have been sold for the Kyiv-Kharkiv train and around 200 tickets for the Kyiv-Lviv train.Ivanko said that passengers could order food for an extra charge, which would not exceed UAH 40.

He said that in the near term passengers of high-speed trains will be able to use Internet access services, and for first-class passengers it will be free of charge, while Ivanko did not disclose the price of Internet access for second-class passengers.He said that the Kyiv-Kharkiv train would stop in Mirhorod and Poltava, the Kyiv-Donetsk train – in Mirhorod and Sloviansk, while the Kyiv-Lviv train would have no stops.
