The United Nations has asked for $33.3 million of assistance for eastern regions of Ukraine where fighting is occurring now.

The UN is drafting a plan of regions which need assistance – concerning medical care, education, sanitary standards, and temporary shelters, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos said in an interview with the Ukraine TV channel. The UN has asked donors for $33.3 million, she said.

Delivering aid to certain regions will be complicated, Amos said. The issue of delivering aid needed will occur as fighting is under way there, she said.
