Ukraine's new President Victor Yanukovych plans to visit Russia on March 5, presidential administration deputy chief Anna German told Interfax.

The planned visit was announced at Yanukovych’s meeting with State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov and Russian presidential administration chief Sergei Naryshkin she said.

Yanukovych will visit Brussels on March 1 before Moscow, as was agreed by protocol services, Herman said.

"The visit to Brussels will be on March 1, to Moscow on March 5. Why? Because it is in the schedule," she told journalists on Thursday, responding to a question posed by Interfax.

"And I would not look for any symbolic meaning here," she added.
