 The governments of Ukraine and the United States on April 14 signed an agreement on guarantees of borrowings amounting to $1 billion attracted by Ukraine, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk has said at a meeting of the parliamentary constitutional committee in Kyiv. "The agreement between the government of Ukraine and that of the United States on the issuance of $1 billion aid was signed in Washington today," said the head of the Ukrainian government.

Yatseniuk also said the EU on April 14 adopted a legal decision to
provide Ukraine with $2 billion macro-financial assistance and
unilaterally open European markets for Ukrainian goods.

As reported, a preliminary agreement on the US’ providing guarantees
on $1 billion loans was achieved in late February-early March this year
after the new government came to power in Kyiv.
