US to send several hundred observers to parliamentary elections in Ukraine

A big group of U.S. observers is planning to come to Ukraine to monitor the elections.

Several hundred U.S. observers will arrive to Ukraine soon to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections. 

"A big group of U.S. observers is planning to come to Ukraine to monitor the elections," Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States Oleksandr Motsyk said at a press conference on Wednesday.

He added that the United States wanted to see fair and transparent elections in Ukraine.

The parliamentary elections will be held in Ukraine on October 28, 2012.

The Kyiv Post is disabling its online comment section due to an increase in trolls, violent comments and other personal attacks. Other news organizations worldwide have taken similar steps for the same reasons. The Kyiv Post regrets having to take this action.
