US Vice President Joseph Biden is going to pay a visit to Ukraine in the second half of November, presidential press service said.

The day before Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with US Vice President Joseph Biden.

The parties discussed the visit of Biden to Ukraine planned for the second part of November.

“Petro Poroshenko and Joseph Biden expressed hope on productive dialogue on the peace process in the Donbas, facilitation of reforms in Ukraine, economic assistance and cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF,” the report said.

“The US Vice President highly evaluated the actions of the Ukrainian President that ensured democratic character of the elections to the Verkhovna Rada. He noted that the decision to hold the elections in such a difficult time for Ukraine was impressing,” the press service reported.

Biden also said that Ukraine needs reforms and the given work is ahead.

Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the USA and personally to Joseph Biden for the support of Ukraine.

“The head of state noted the importance of the statement of US President Barack Obama regarding the successful holding of parliamentary elections in Ukraine. President Poroshenko informed that his further efforts would be aimed at peaceful process and facilitation of reforms,” the press service quoted president as saying.
