The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) will decide which countries will provide unmanned aerial vehicles to be used to monitor the situation in eastern Ukraine itself, said Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council.

“It is the OSCE who decides who will provide unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), how and under what conditions. So if the OSCE decides to accept unmanned vehicles from any country to ensure the effectiveness of its work, it will be their decision and we will welcome it,” NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, Oct. 20.

On Oct. 17, Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini said that several countries, including France, Germany, Ukraine and Russia, expressed their readiness to provide the OSCE with unmanned aircraft and military personnel to ensure control over the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine, as well as military personnel for their maintenance.
