Former president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych only received two notes of suspicion regarding his crimes during the Maidan events in 2013 and for embezzling the money of Ukrtelekom company," said Viktor Serdyuk, Yanukovych's defense lawyer.

“As of today, Yanukovych’s defense received only two notes of suspicion in July 2015 – under the cases of Maidan and Ukrtelekom. There were no other suspicions…,” he said at a press conference on Aug.27.

According to Serdyuk, Interpol refused to put Yanukovych on its wanted list because the accusations against him were politically motivated. He also said that the new cases against Yanukovych are artificial substitutes for the Maidan case.
