The agreement between Ukraine and Israel on the cancelation of visas for short-term trips for citizens comes into effect onFeb. 9, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.

"On February 9, a visa-free regime between Ukraine and Israel comes into effect to fulfill the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of Israel on the cancelation of visa regime for the persons owners of civil passports or service passports of Ukraine and Israel," Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov said at a briefing in Kyiv on Feb.8.

Thus, citizens of Ukraine and Israel may enter territory of the other state, travel through it or stay on its territory without having to obtain visas for 90 days within a period of 180 days,

The intergovernmental agreement on the cancelation of visas between Ukraine and Israel for short-term trips was signed by the foreign ministers of the two countries.

The introduction a visa-free travel is expected to increase the inflow of Ukrainian tourists to Israel by up to 200,000 people per year.
