Ukraine said on June 25 that it would be willing to resume talks with Russia to end a dispute over natural gas soon, but that no definitive solution was likely in the current climate. During a visit to Brussels, Ukraine's energy minister, Yuri Prodan, also signaled that Kiev wouldn't settle its gas debts until both sides had agreed.
