Washington - The United States is working closely with its European partners to take a range of steps against Russia in relation to its actions over Ukraine.

“Well, certainly, we have a range of tools [of pressure on Russia] at our disposal. That discussion is constantly ongoing not only within the [U.S.] Administration…, but as you know, the UN had a meeting this afternoon. There was an emergency OSCE meeting. This will be discussed through international fora as well. So I don’t have anything to predict for you, but these discussions are ongoing and these emergency meetings are being pulled together in part because of the range of actions that are being take – or taking place,” U.S. State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.

She said that Washington has additional tools and NATO summit in Wales would provide an occasion to discuss this issue.

Psaki stressed that Russia still sending combat forces, surface-to-air missile systems, artillery batteries to the militants operating in the east of Ukraine.

“We are concerned about the pattern of escalating aggression that we’ve seen not just over the past couple of days but weeks and months. This is not a new pattern of behavior…We’ve had concerns for weeks now about Russia’s crossing over the border, about the provisions and assistance that they’ve been providing to the separatists,” she stressed.
