Customs rules are about to become easier, writes Kommersant Ukraine. A draft law has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada that would deprive customs officers of their right to question the contract prices of imported goods. Now, customs officers can rise the price of the goods if they were imported earlier on higher price.

Ukraine’s foreign ministry published a list of dangerous countries that Ukrainians are not recommended to travel to, reports TSN. The list includes 11 countries. Saudi Arabia, for example, is not recommended because of the spreading of atypical pneumonia, while Pakistan made the list due to the frequent terrorist attacks there.

In a month a new shark will be placed in the tank in Ocean Plaza mall, writes Korrespondent.net. The tank used to host a tiger shark named Big John, but it was moved away due to concerns about it being too big for the mall tank. The tank’s new inhabitant will be a shovelhead shark.

Amnesty International criticized Kyiv city administration for trying to ban a gay pride parade in Kyiv, writes Korrespondent.net. The parade is scheduled fpr May 25. The administration went to court to ask that the parade be banned. According to Amnesty International, over 22,000 people in Ukraine and other European states signed a petition to allow the parade in Kyiv.

Ukraine’s State Penitentiary Service claims that jailed former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko can’t be the one writing for the blog that is supposed to be hers, reports Dzerkalo Tyzhnya. The blog was started in Tymoshenko’s name on the Ukrainska Pravda website on May 20. “She doesn’t have access to a computer,” a State Penitentiary Service representative has confirmed. He assumed that the blog is actually managed by Tymoshenko allies or her press service.
