Kyiv's bread market is being monopolized by a private company owned by a Party of Regions parliament deputy Volodymyr Misyk, writes Ukrainska Pravda. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov hailed the creation of his new private bread company in July, when he said that the city was soon to get a new giant bread bakery and 500 smaller baking shops.

The
company is called Kulynychi, and has also been endorsed by President
Viktor Yanukovych, who has visited the bread bakery and even praised
its croissant with poppy seeds.

The
private company is muscling out state-subsidized bread suppliers from
the lucrative market in the capital, forcing supermarket chains to
drop old suppliers and favor of Kulynychi and opening a massive number
of bread kiosks across the city, allegedly without proper documents.

Ukraine
got one of its first biogas plants as Danosha, a Danish company,
inaurugated its first facility in Ivano-Frankivsk region on Sept.10
.
According to forbes.ua,
the new facility will churn 400,000 tons of pig manure daily, turning
it into 4 million cubic meters of gas per year, as well as heat and
electric energy.

The
gas plant, located in the village of Kopanky in the suburbs of Kalush
city, is a new business of one of the region’s biggest pig farms,
which was established by Danish investors in 2004. The farm raises
125,000 pigs, according to Forbes. These investors also operate a
sister company in Poland called Poldanor.

Apple’s new phones, iPhone 5S and iPhone
5C, which were presented in the company’s headquarters in Cupertino,
Calif. on Sept. 10, will be on sale in Ukraine as of October
,

The same phones will be available in the U.S. as of Sept. 20, according
to the company.

The
iPhone 5S will be available in Ukraine’s Citrus network with a price tag of Hr 7,999 for the 16
Gb model. In USA, the same model will be available for $649. The
model’s top feature is a fingerprint scanner which makes it unusable
by anyone but the owner, and improved camera features.

Its
brother, iPhone 5C will sell for the same price as the previous model,
iPhone 5, which starts from Hr 5,199 for the 16 Gb model. Its main
gimmick is colorful shell. The model is expected to challenge many cheaper Android-operated smartphone producers.

Kyiv city’s minibus companies are thinking about
doubling the price for their service, from the current Hr 2.5 per
ride to Hr 5

daily. The prices for minibus have not changed since 2007, and always
become a subject of heated debates between the city authorities
and the carriers because of social sensitivity of the issue.
