The defense team of former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko is sure that the court will acquit the ex-premier in the gas case, due to which they will not have to ask for pardon.

“Yulia Volodymyrivna has stated that she will not request a pardon
from [Ukrainian President Viktor] Yanukovych. I don’t want to comment on
the pardon process, as we still have the court of appeals. I think
we’ll do without pardon, [as the court will] decide to cancel the ruling
and close the criminal case,” Tymoshenko’s lawyer Oleksandr Plakhotniuk
said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

When asked about his forecast regarding the upcoming hearing of the
appeal against the ruling in the gas case by the Higher Specialized
Court of Ukraine on Civil and Criminal Cases on June 26, Plakhotniuk
said, “There will be an acquittal.”
