You're reading: With 90 percent of ballots counted, People’s Front still leading in Ukraine polls

A tally of 90.02 percent of ballots cast in Ukraine's Oct. 26 parliamentary election gives 22.16 percent of the vote to the People's Front and 21.77 percent of the vote to Petro Poroshenko's Bloc, according to the Ukrainian Central Election Commission (CEC).

The Samopomich movement from western Ukraine has received 10.96 percent of the vote, the Opposition Bloc 9.35 percent, the Radical Party 7.46 percent, and Batkivschyna 5.7 percent, it said.

The other political forces running in the elections have been unable to gain 5 percent of the vote needed to win parliamentary seats. However, Svoboda (Freedom) has come very close to the electoral threshold with 4.71 percent of the vote.
