The World Bank is ready to assist Ukraine in holding reforms in most import and promising areas.

This issue was discussed at a meeting of Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, Vice President of the World Bank Philippe Le Houerou and World Bank Regional Director for Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine Martin Raiser on Friday evening, the press service of the Ukrainian government reported on Saturday.

The World Bank’s vice president noted that Ukraine was currently taking every effort to improve the interaction between business and government.

The World Bank is ready to provide funds to support the reforms, particularly in those industries that are being actively reformed, the press service quoted Houerou as saying. The World Bank made a special emphasis on investing in energy conservation and the development of high technology.

"There is no such area, where reforms are not conducted. In some areas they are going faster, in others slower. The Verkhovna Rada has considered the pension reform, the reform also touched on health care, utilities, and administrative system," Azarov said during a meeting.

The prime minister noted that the administrative reform hasn’t left out the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, in particular, the Cabinet’s staff was reduced by more than half.

"Reforms are carried out everywhere, we have taken a good pace," Azarov said.
