Yanukovych appoints Kolobov as finance minister

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has appointed Yuriy Kolobov to the post of finance minister of Ukraine. A relevant decree was signed and posted on the president's Web site on Tuesday.

Kolobov was appointed deputy governor of the National Bank of Ukraine in April 2011, and was promoted to first deputy in November 2010. Prior to this he worked in Ukreximbank, was chairman of the board of BTA Bank, and treasury director at Oschadbank.

As reported, on Jan. 18, 2012, Yanukovych appointed Valeriy Khoroshkovsky as Ukraine's finance minister. He worked in this office for about a month and on Feb. 22 was appointed Ukraine's first deputy prime minister.

Prior to him, Fedir Yaroshenko worked as finance minister from March 2011 until January 2012.
