Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has created the Council for the Development of the Mystetsky Arsenal National Cultural, Art and Museum Complex as an advisory body under the head of state.

The president signed a respective decree on Thursday, according to his official Web site.

According to the document, third Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko (2005-2010) and Culture Minister Mykhailo Kulyniak were appointed co-chairs of the council.

The council also includes First Deputy Culture Minister Yuriy Bohutsky, Presidential Adviser and Head of the Main Department for Humanitarian and Socio-Political Issues at the Presidential Administration Hanna Herman, Head of the State Affairs Department Andriy Kravets, and others.

The main tasks of the council are to draft and submit to the Ukrainian president proposals on consolidating the efforts of the artistic community and to ensure the implementation of agreed measures aimed at the further development of Mystetsky Arsenal as a modern national educational and cultural center.
