You're reading: Yanukovych arrives in Switzerland to take part in World Economic Forum

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has arrived in Switzerland to take part in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, the president's press service has reported.

According to the report, Yanukovych is expected to participate in a
plenary sessions of the forum entitled “Development of Strategic
Infrastructure” and “Foundation for Europe’s Revival.”

The Ukrainian head of state will also hold bilateral meetings with
European Parliament President Martin Schulz and Chief Executive Officer
of Royal Dutch Shell Peter Voser.

As the head of the presidential administration earlier reported, in
his speeches, the president will present his vision of Ukraine’s
possible contribution to the restoration of economic stability on the
European continent, and the development of new models of cooperation in
the energy sector.

In addition, Yanukovych is expected to act as co-speaker at the
plenary session of the World Economic Forum dedicated to accelerating
infrastructure development, in which the president will focus on the
role, experience and abilities of Ukraine in ensuring gas transit in
Eurasia.
