KHARKIV – Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has called on utility workers "to stop dreaming" of a rise of utility tariffs following the parliamentary elections and asked them to focus on preparations for the winter season.
"I would like to address all managers related to the housing and utility sphere and ask them to set economically reasonable utility tariffs. I am warning you in advance and asking you to stop dreaming of a tariff increase following the elections. Dear colleagues, this is unacceptable. Political seasons should not have negative influence on the quality of life of people. This is our fundamental position," the president said on Wednesday, during a visit to Kharkiv.
The president also stressed that special attention should be paid to the preparations for the upcoming winter season.
