Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych had a phone conversation with United States Vice President Joseph Biden, the president's website informed.
During the conversation, Biden expressed his concern about the recent parliamentary elections in Ukraine and asked Yanukovych to ensure the election process is fair and transparent.
Yanukovych assured Biden that Ukraine’s authorities are doing everything to guarantee the elections are fair.
Biden has also thanked Yanukovych for his congratulations for winning the U.S. presidential elections on Nov. 6, jointly with Barack Obama.
During the conversation Yanukovych and Biden also discussed Ukraine’s internal politics and international challenges.
