Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has demanded the heads of central and local authorities to consider an issue of providing adult orphans with housing.

“We know well enough that when these children grow up, they have no place to live and to work. There is nobody to take care of them, except the state. And we must start deal with this program today, because this problem exists today, and in future it’ll get worsen, and we must resolve it,” Yanukovych said during the visiting sitting of the Council of Regions in Boryspil on Wednesday, the president’s press service reported.

According to him, in near future about 20,000 orphans will have to be provided with housing.

The head of the state noted that during their studies these children could live in hostels, but after that the state must take care of providing them with housing.
