Yanukovych: Kyiv appreciates Fidel Castro's contribution to development of Ukraine-Cuba relations

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has congratulated Cuban communist revolutionary Fidel Castro on his 86th birthday.

"Ukraine appreciates your contribution to the development of Ukraine-Cuba relations and we are set to further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest," reads the Ukrainian president's congratulation posted on his Web site.

Yanukovych also said that he enjoyed his visit to Cuba and a meeting with Castro in October 2011. The president wished Fidel Castro good health, inexhaustible energy and success in his activity in science and literature.
