You're reading: Yanukovych orders government to investigate into cause of blast in Makiyivka mine

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has ordered Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov to create a governmental commission to investigate into causes of a blast in Bazhanov mine in Makiyivka (Donetsk region) and provide aid to injured miners and families of the killed miners, the presidential press service has reported.

Head of state also ordered Prosecutor General’s Office and Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to take all measures to investigate into the cause of the tragedy and react in line with Ukrainian law.

"Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka is to inform the president on the results of the investigation by August 10, 2011," reads a report of the press service.
