"Yanukovych has pledged the leaders of the opposition factions in parliament that there will be no crackdown on protesters on Kyiv's Independence Square,"- said Klitschko  following talks at the president's administration on Wednesday evening.

“Yanukovych assured us there would be no crackdown on Maidan, which means a truce in fact. The main task today is to stop the bloodshed triggered and unleashed by the authorities. We’ll see how Yanukovych will keep his word following all the sanctions promised by the West,” Klitschko said.

UDAR’s press service quoted the party’s leader saying that the sides on Wednesday agreed to resume talks and announce a truce on Maidan. The next round of the talks with Yanukovych is slated for Thursday.
