Sevastopol – Ukraine will execute this year's state budget in full, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

“I can say one thing – the financial results this year, I mean the budget, will be executed by 100 percent,” Yanukovych said at a meeting with officials in Sevastopol on Tuesday, according to the president’s press service.

According to him, the budget will be executed, despite the fact that this year’s grain harvest will be 10 to 11 million tonnes less than last year.

“[Last year] we had almost 57 million tonnes of grain, and this year it will be around 46 million, or some 10 to 11 million less than last year,” the president said.

Such grain harvest, in his words, still affected the economic growth, which was 4.5%-5.3% in the past two years against the expected 2.5% this year.

However, according to the president, this year’s harvest will be in the top three crops over the past 20 years.

“We think that the quality of grain this year will allow getting the financial result, which will be no worse than last year. Therefore, we are optimistic about the future and I hope that the economic growth will stimulate the improvement in people’s lives,” Yanukovych said.
