You're reading: Yanukovych presents Olympic athletes with new apartments in Dnipropetrovsk

DNIPROPETROVSK – Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has opened a new block of flats at the Livoberezhny-3 housing area in Dnipropetrovsk, which was constructed under the Affordable Housing social initiative.

An Interfax-Ukraine reported said on Thursday that at the ceremony
Yanukovych presented four 2012 Olympic athletes, Yana Dementieva,
Natalia Dovhodko, Anastasia Kozhenkova, and Kateryna Tarasenko, as well
as their coach Oleksandr Piatnytsia, with apartments in the block of
flats.

A family that participated in the Affordable Housing program also received an apartment in the building.

In his speech, Yanukovych said that every Ukrainian family should
have an opportunity to buy such housing, “the cost of which won’t exceed
30% of the family budget.”

According to the president, 15 more blocks of flats are to be built
in the housing area in Dnipropetrovsk. Yanukovych also inspected two
apartments on the first floor of the new block of flats.
