Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has praised the significant potential in the development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Thailand, and said that this potential should be used for the further development of effective cooperation.
"The start of these relations is rather optimistic, and I hope that we will develop them further," Yanukovych said at a meeting with Defense Minister of Thailand Sukampol Suwannathat, according to the presidential press service.
The president expressed hope that the defense minister's visit to Ukraine would contribute to the improvement of the political dialogue between the countries.
Yanukovych also invited the prime minister of Thailand to visit Ukraine.
