Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych signed the controversial procurement law on Aug. 1, his press service reported. The bill on state procurement further reduces competition and oversight of state purchases, which are already bleeding the budget.

Yanukovych, the imbecile "president", is the single most important source of the escalating corruption in Ukraine today. He has used his position to acquire obscene luxury for himself and his family, comparable with the Romanian communist dictator Ceaușescu.

That's the whole reason he's doing it. So he and his cronies can line their pockets even MORE!!!
Thanks KP for continuing to follow this story. The passing of this bill has a tremendous negative effect on every citizen and that yanukovych signed it, shows his true feelings about corruption; he welcomes it and benefits from it.
