Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will make a state visit to Greece on October 6-7, the head of the presidential administration, Serhiy Liovochkin, has said.

He said this would be the first state visit to Greece of a Ukrainian president in almost 20 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Ukrainian president is to visit Athens and Thessaloniki.

President Yanukovych will hold talks with President of Greece Karolos Papoulias, Prime Minister Georgios Papandreou, Speaker of the Parliament Philippos Petsalnikos.

During the visit, a number of bilateral documents are to be signed, in particular in air transport, healthcare, justice and the investment sector.

The Ukrainian president is also scheduled to participate in a Ukrainian-Greek business forum.
