Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that Ukraine is at the final stage of fulfilling the "Fule list" as part of the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU.

"Ukraine is now at the final stage of implementing the program, which we call the 'Fule list,'" he said at a meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule in Kyiv on Friday.

Yanukovych said that the Ukrainian parliament on Thursday voted for a bill on the judiciary, which was assessed by the Venice Commission, and expressed hope that this bill would be passed by a constitutional majority at the next session of parliament.

“A bill on prosecutor’s office has not yet returned from the Venice Commission, but as far as I know, he will be considered in final wording there next week,” he said.

Yanukovych expressed confidence that the path that Ukraine is currently walking with the European Union is opening up new opportunities for cooperation in the near future and that the atmosphere of trust that exists between the sides will promote this.

Fule, in turn, said he was pleased with the strengthening of interaction between representatives of the EU and Ukraine in the context of preparations for the Eastern Partnership summit to be held in Vilnius in November this year. He also noted the progress made by Ukraine towards meeting the conditions earlier set out by the EU.

Fule also stressed the importance of a national round table on European integration, which was held in Kyiv on Friday with the participation of representatives of various political forces in Ukraine and civil society, during which there was a constructive discussion.
