Ukraine and Russia should find efficient ways of economic cooperation after Russia joins the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.
“Russia is one of the key trade partners of Ukraine. We’d like that the process [of Russia’s joining the WTO] was as more efficient as possible,” he said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi on Saturday.
Yanukovych said that it is important to obtain sales markets for high-tech goods for Ukraine and Russia in the future.
The press service of the head of state reported that the president added that some issues remain important for bilateral relations, in particular, heavy engineering.
“I’d like to put some clarity into various issues: what we’ll do with aircraft building, energy engineering and shipbuilding,” he said.
