Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has urged the newly appointed Prosecutor General, Viktor Pshonka, to work on anti-corruption laws in coordination with other governmental agencies.

"When it comes to fighting corruption, together we should work on the anti-corruption laws, starting from the beginning," the head of state said on Thursday, while introducing the new prosecutor general.

"Viktor Pavlovych, I want you to give an impetus to this process," the president told the prosecutor.

Yanukovych urged the General Prosecutor’s Office to coordinate the fight against corruption directly with the presidential administration.
