The leader of the nationalist Right Sector party, Dmytro Yarosh, appears to have won in a single-mandate constituency in Dnipropetrovk Oblast during Ukrainian parliamentary elections.

The Central Election Commission said in a report that, of the ballot papers that had been processed in the constituency in Pavlohrad (94.98 percent), 29.98 percent, the largest single proportion had been cast for Yarosh.

Independent candidate Maria Pustova’s result was 10.34%, and Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) candidate Mger Kuyumchan’s 10.34 percent.

The commission said that 58.62 percent of ballots had been processed nationwide and that this would mean Right Sector had mustered a mere 1.89 percent of the vote.

Right Sector’s information coordinator, Boryslav Bereza, is running as an independent candidate in a single-mandate constituency in Kyiv. The commission said his result was 29.49 percent of vote after 67.1 percent of votes had been processed, 6.92 percentage points more than that of Petro Poroshenko Bloc candidate Anatoliy Karpenko.
