Ukraine would like to negotiate the resumption of relations with Russia, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.

“We would like to hold negotiations on Ukrainian-Russian relations
and we think that our foreign ministers should meet as soon as
possible,” Yatsenyuk said at an investment conference in Kyiv on
Wednesday.

Ukraine will never recognize Crimea’s accession to Russia, Yatsenyuk
said, adding, “There are some issues the countries should discuss, among
them bilateral trade and energy.”

“We are prepared to hold negotiations between the foreign ministers,
the so-called ‘contact group’ introduced three weeks ago,” the Ukrainian
government chairman noted.

At the same time, Yatsenyuk stressed that Russia had to acknowledge
the independence of Ukraine and its aspiration to become an EU member
country.
