Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk met with senior United States Senator and member of U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services William Nelson and discussed the initiatives of the American legislators aimed at expanding military and technical cooperation with Ukraine.
“The Prime Minister welcomed the initiatives of the American legislators aimed at expanding military and technical cooperation with Ukraine. Such support, according to Arseniy Yatseniuk, is important today, especially in the context of the current Russian aggression against Ukraine,” Yatseniuk said.
The PM highly evaluated the principled stance of the American administration to protect the independence and democratic choice of Ukraine and to support the struggle of the Ukrainian people against Russia-backed terrorists.
Apart from that, Arseniy Yatseniuk and William Nelson discussed urgent issues of energy security on the European continent. The head of government stressed the need to find a joint solution with the European Union to reduce Ukraine’s dependence on gas supplies from Russia.
