You're reading: Yatsenyuk calls on gathering UN Security Council’s meeting after Mariupol shelling

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has called on holding a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the issue of violation of international right by Russia after shelling Mariupol by militants caused casualties among civilians.

“Today I held a meeting with ambassadors of Big Seven and ambassadors of countries-members of the UN Security Council. We address our western partners and members of the UN Security Council to urgently hold a meeting of the UN Security Council,” he said at a meeting of the control headquarters regarding the situation in Mariupol in Kyiv on Jan. 24.

The premier said that Russia violates not only Minsk Agreements by its actions, but also basic principles of international law and humanity.
