Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has criticized the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry for its failure to submit the country's energy generation and consumption balance for 2015 to the government on time.

“So that we could finally have that balance! Can we have that balance? I’ve been saying this for a third month in a row!” he exclaimed at a ministry board meeting in Kyiv on July 7.

Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn and head of the National Commission of Ukraine for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation Dmytro Vovk said that they had approved the document at the level of their agencies, however, Yatsenyuk described the document as ‘informal,’ an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported.

“My attitude to certain informal documents and everything that is informal is very specific. I know that when it goes about ensuring the energy security of the state – this is the direct function of the Cabinet of Ministers or the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC),” he said.

Yatsenyuk suggested that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko should call an NSDC meeting devoted to the energy balance and preparations for the autumn and winter periods.
