Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has demanded that public procurement in the Ministry of Infrastructure must be fully transparent.

“There are billions of hryvnias in your ministry, and the issue of transparency in public procurement should be a priority,” he said during a meeting at the Ministry of Infrastructure.

According to him, transparent public procurement procedures will attract additional funds in the form of investment in the industry.

“A striking example is a tender for the construction of the Lviv-Ivano-Frankivsk road. The reduction of price due to a transparent tender is 35 percent. Think about it, because earlier the money were to someone’s pockets,” Yatsenyuk said.
