Ukraine's Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has called for prompt formation of the new cabinet of ministers due to the short period allowed for the adoption of the state budget for next year and work with international partners.

“The government should be formed in the next ten days,” Yatsenyuk told reporters in Kyiv on Friday, Nov. 21, citing a need for further negotiations with the International Monetary Fund and international partners.

“The main thing is the urgent adoption of a Ukrainian law on the state budget. We have a month to do that. A draft version of the law is ready. In addition to the law of Ukraine on the state budget, the entire package of budget legislation (budget decentralization and the tax reform), reduction of the number of taxes, reduction of rates, and expansion of the base,” Yatsenyuk said.

According to earlier reports, members of Ukraine’s newly elected parliament will meet for the first session on Nov. 27.
