Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk believes that Ukraine will not become a member of NATO any time soon, however the Alliance is the only option to protect Ukraine.
“NATO is the only way to protect Ukraine… In the short term, NATO is not ready to accept Ukraine, but, as the Bible says, if you knock on the door it will open. So we decided to knock,” he said during the debate at the 11th YES annual meeting in Kyiv.
Yatsenyuk said that Russia wanted to further destabilize the situation in Ukraine, and one of the options would be a plan to freeze the conflict in the east of the country.
