Prosecution agencies will check for every liter of technological oil that was earlier pumped out of pipelines by Ukrtransnafta PJSC, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has told the reporters.

“I’m aware of the situation. Moreover, [I] have addressed the prosecution agencies. According to preliminary data, this oil is in corresponding reservoirs. But I want the official position of the Prosecutor General’s Office and supervising agencies. Every liter of Ukrainian state oil must be saved,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Aug. 22.

Yatsenyuk said that oil reserves were very important for the country.

“I look at it as a strategic resource – during a cold winter we might have to process this oil to provide heat for the country. Thus, with regards to this question, there will be an official statement on every liter. If anything has gone missing – they will tell the prosecution agencies about it in other places,” Yatseniuk said.

As reported, the General Prosecutor’s Office is examining the legality of Ukrtransnafta’s pumping out 606,000 tonnes of technological oil from pipelines to its own storages.
