The Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts will remain part of Ukraine, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated.

“The issue of the country’s territorial integrity is not on the discussion table. The Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts have been, are and will be a part of Ukraine,” he said in an interview with Channel Five aired on Sept. 12 evening.

The administration of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic said earlier that it insisted on the DPR’s independence from Ukraine.

“We utterly and completely adhere to the independence of our republic within the borders of the Donetsk Oblast. As far as I know, colleagues from the Luhansk Republic maintain the same position,” DPR First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Purgin told Interfax on Sept. 10.
