Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk called the U.S. to prosecute Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash.

“We are convinced that this Ukrainian oligarch should be held liable in the U.S.,” the Ukrainian government press service quoted Yatsenyuk as saying in his speech at the Atlantic Council in Washington on June 9.

The Ukrainian government has carried out systemic transformations in the energy sector, Yatsenyuk said. “We have eliminated oligarchs and mediators who, like vampires, existed in the Ukrainian Naftogaz system, including Mr. Firtash, whose case is being investigated by the FBI,” he said.

The Ukrainian government is making steps to fight corruption both at the top level and “at the level of inspectors, customs officers, policemen, prosecutors, and judges,” he said.
