Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has said that thanks to reverse gas supplies from Europe and the beginning of gas supplies from Slovakia, Ukraine will replace 40 percent of the gas it earlier bought from Russia with re-exported fuel, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has reported.

“Thanks to the opening of reverse supplies from Slovakia and the possibility of Ukraine buying gas in Europe, we replaced 40 percent of the gas that we earlier bough from Russian company Gazprom with gas that we buy and transport from Europe,” he said at a ceremony to launch reverse gas supplies in Slovakia on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
