Ukraine's agricultural sector may grow by 5 percent in 2014, while GDP may decline by 7 percent due to hostilities in the east of the country, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.

“Ukraine’s agricultural sector is the only branch of the economy that demonstrates up to 5 percent growth. Another positive piece of news is that change in our Ease of Doing Business rank was 16 positions up. However, a negative thing is that our GDP may potentially contract by 7 percent,” he said at the Ukrainian-Norwegian forum in Kyiv on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

The Ukrainian government expects the country’s economy to stabilize in the first half of 2015, he added.
